Courageous

He said:  Good movie about men being good fathers.  Acting is a little substandard, but overall a good family movie.  Grade: B+

She said:  I really enjoyed this movie.  Some humor, some tragedy, a lot of life lessons.  Great movie for the family.  No bad language...a great story.  May need some tissue!

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

He said:  I wasn't a huge fan of the first movie, not really a fan of this movie, either.  Just not my kind of movie.  I'm not a huge Robert Downey fan so maybe that makes me a little biased, but I just did not enjoy this movie.  Grade: C-

She said:  I didn't like the first one, and I didn't like the second one!  I think it's the directing I don't like, hard to follow fight scenes, accents so thick I couldn't understand some things they were saying.  I love the Sherlock Holmes character, just not a fan of these movies.

Girl With A Dragon Tattoo

He said:  If you've read the book or seen the Swedish movie, you know what to expect.  An intriguing murder mystery with graphic/brutal sex scenes including a very disturbing rape scene.  Not for the faint of heart.  I could not recommend this movie to any of my friends, it's just too graphic.  Grade:  A for story and suspense, F for graphic nature.  Overall: C-

She said:  Very graphic sex and rape scenes!!  Language rough.!  That being said, I love criminal thrillers and this was a story of a 40 year old murder.  I like the idea of trying to figure out who dunnit.  NOT a movie for kids/young teenagers in my opinion.

In Time

He said:  Very interesting concept for a movie, very original.  The more I watch Justin Timberlake on screen, the more I like him.  Overall good dollar date movie.  Grade:  B

She said:  These kind of movies usually drive me crazy.  But, it was actually pretty good.  I've said before that a day will come that we will all have chips in us to pay for stuff and not swipe cards anymore....this movie is a little scary in that regard!  Overall pretty good movie

Abduction

He said:  I wasn't expecting very  much from this movie, but it kinda surprised me.  A lot of action and excitement.  Taylor Lautner is not the best actor in the world, but he did an OK job.  Good dollar movie. Grade:  B-

She said: I thought this movie was pretty good.  Good action. Wasn't sure if Taylor Lautner could pull it off, but he did pretty good.  Good for a Redbox rental.

New Year's Eve

He said:  Think Valentine's Day-Part 2.  Huge ensemble cast with several stories woven together.  Not a bad date movie.  Grade: C

She said: Lots of famous faces in this movie.  Lots of stories going on at once, and even a little guessing game sprinkled throughout the movie.  You'll see when you watch it.  I liked this movie.  It was about second chances, taking risks, and helping people live their dreams.  There was some bad language, but overall this was a good, fun and sweet movie.  Would recommend this one.

Tower Heist

He said:  Not a big Ben Stiller fan.  And, this movie didn't change that!  Pretty good cast, but this movie never really felt right.  Wait for Redbox.  Grade:C-

She said:  As I've said before, there are some movies where the trailer is the funniest part.  Well, this is one of them.  A lot of crude language, wouldn't want to watch this with my teenagers.  The acting wasn't great..this was just pretty much a mediocre movie.  Wouldn't hurt to skip this one, or not pay more than a Redbox amount!

We Bought A Zoo

He said:  This was a good movie, not great.  The language was a little worse than I expected.  I thought Matt Damon did a good job portraying a man dealing with the loss of his wife.  This movie is based on a true story which is pretty cool.  Grade:  B

She said:  Good movie based on a true story.  A little slow at times, but overall feel good movie.  I think the language was a little surprising and the little girl calls a man a derogatory name.  But, other than that...it was cute.

Misson Impossible-Ghost Protocol

He said:  I'm not a huge Tom Cruise fan, but I really enjoyed this movie.  A lot of action and thrilling stunts.  Also, very cool BMW's.  This movie was a little easier to follow than some of the other Mission Impossible films and this was my favorite of all of them.  Grade:  B+

She said:  I'm not really a Tom Cruise fan, but I have to say I enjoyed this movie.  Action packed, some humor, great scenery.  Language not horrible either.  Good date day movie....oh yeah...forgot to mention all the awesome cars...guys should love that :)

Paranormal Activity 3

He said:  I don't like these kinds of movies.

She said:  OMG...I jumped and screamed out loud in the theater!  Lots of suspenseful moments!  The ending left a lot to be desired, but overall, it was a good scary movie!  Be prepared to jump!

The Twilight Saga-Breaking Dawn Part 1

He said:  Didn't see this one.

She said:  This was the best one of the bunch!!  Of course, I enjoyed the last book too, so naturally I would like this one the best.  I hate that they are splitting it into 2 parts, because I didn't want it to end. I have to say, I watched this with my teenage daughter and was pretty uncomfortable during the honey moon scene.  Not that they showed a lot of skin, but the implication and "movements" were there!  Other than that, it was good :)

Seven Days in Utopia

He said:  First just let me say that Robert Duvall is one of my favorite actors, and he was cast perfectly in this role.  It's a movie about the love of the game of golf, but more importantly it's a movie about life and love and faith.  It's about the Truth that dwells inside all of us and the difficulties we all face finding that Truth.  The Truth that successes and failures don't matter, but people and God do.  Grade:  Acting:  Robert Duvall- A ; Other Actors:  C; Movie: A-

She said:   Finally!!!!  A movie the whole family can watch.  I had never heard of this movie, but watched the trailer and thought....this looks like a good movie.  And boy, was I right!!  I love Robert Duvall and he didn't disappoint!!  This movie is about a golfer who has a complete meltdown on National Television during a golf tournament.  He crashes his car in a pasture of a man name Johnny who lives in Utopia.   He spends 7 days there (while his car is being repaired) learning life lessons/golf lessons from Johnny.  Refreshingly no bad language, no naked people and a lot of Christian influence.  I would recommend this movie for everyone.  GO OUT AND SUPPORT THE GOOD MOVIES!!!

Dear Frankie

He said:  It's been a while since I saw this movie, so I'm trying to remember.  This movie was recommended by our good friends, Lance and Jenny Lou Jones, who like Irish/British movies.  It was about a woman struggling to raise her son without a father.  It was very sad at times but also very poignant.  I thought the little boy was a really good actor.  I enjoyed this movie very much.  Grade:  B

She said:  This is a little known movie starring Gerard Butler.  It was sweet and funny and basically is about a mother's love for her child and what she will do to protect him.  A good rental for a lazy day...one the whole family can watch.

Bridesmaids

He said:  Not my kind of movie. There were some funny parts, but most of it was just inappropriate.  I did enjoy seeing Wilson Phillips at the end.  Grade:  D

She said:  There is a reason this movie is rated R!!  The language was really bad and the material is inappropriate for young teenagers, lots of sex and sexual innuendo.  Having said that, I have to say it had the funniest bathroom/food poisoning scenes I think I have ever seen. I laughed (along with everyone else in the theater).  It did have some funny scenes in it but I'm glad I didn't pay over $1.99!!  I know I sound like a broken record, but these types of movies would be so much better without all the language in it!!

The Help

He said:  First just let me say that this is a chick flick movie because there are no boobs and no explosions!  This movie was funny, sad, poignant, and heart breaking.  To know that this type of inequality existed in my lifetime makes me a little shameful to be from the South.  I don't understand the cruelty that people have in their hearts!  Of all the movies I've seen this summer, this is my favorite.  Well written and very well acted.  A must see!  Grade:  A

She said: This movie made me ashamed of the history of our country that we would allow people to be treated like they were because of skin color.  Having said that, I thought this was a really good movie, well done and well acted.  I laughed and I cried. The language was rough, but the story was told really well.  I would recommend this movie!

Flypaper

He said:  Dumb! Awful language....dumb!  I love Patrick Dempsey, but this movie was horrible.  Grade:  F

She said:  I did not like this movie.  It had the potential to be a funny caper type movie, but missed the mark by a long shot!  Patrick Dempsey wasn't believable as the neurotic OCD guy and the bank robbers were ridiculously lame!  We rented this on demand, and spent about $9.98 too much out of the $9.99 price!!  Wouldn't hurt to skip this one!

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

He said:  I really didn't like the last Planet of the Apes movie, so I wasn't expecting much of this one.  I was genuinely surprised how much I enjoyed this movie.  The story line was believable and it's about a doctor who's trying to cure his sick father.  The testing on the animals was a little disturbing to me.  In the end, it's about friendship and love and desire to have freedom.  Grade:  B+

She said:  Finally....a movie worth seeing this summer!!  I really enjoyed this movie.  The story was good, the effects were good, and the language wasn't horrible...just all around a good movie.  It's easy to get attached to Ceaser (the monkey) and feel for him during the film.  And, don't leave right when the movie ends, there's a little somethin, somethin during the credits :)  I would put this on your list to see this summer! :)

Crazy, Stupid Love

He said:  I really wanted to see this movie, but I was a little disappointed.  It wasn't as good as I had hoped.  It was a little slow in the beginning and got a little better as it went along.  I never really felt any real connections between any of the characters.  Wait until it comes to the dollar movie.  Grade:  C

She said:  You know how you see a movie trailer and it's really funny, and then you see the movie....and it isn't so funny?  Well, that's about how I felt about this movie.  To me, it was pretty slow, and depressing.  I didn't feel like there was any chemistry between the characters, either.  Don't get me wrong, there were some funny moments.  And even some character twists towards the end.  But, overall I was disappointed in this movie.  I don't think it is appropriate for young audiences due to the overall material, skin, and language.  If you are just dying to see this one, I would wait to pay as little as possible, ie:  the dollar movie or Redbox.

Insidious

He said:  I don't watch these kinds of movies.

She said:  I love scary movies, and this one had some scenes that make you jump and/or make you nervous.  But I have to say, the story line at the end left a lot to be desired.  It didn't make a lot of sense to me.  I would say you could skip this one, or at least get it at Redbox where you don't pay more than $1!!

Just Go With It

He said:  I'm not a huge Adam Sandler fan.  I typically don't like his movies because the are mostly dumb, and I hate dumb.  This was a pretty good romantic comedy, pretty predictable.  A lot of sexual innuendo humor.  It's basically about a guy who lies and lies and lies to get his dream girl.  But he realizes in the end that his dream girl has always been with him.  Funny how people think the grass is always greener, but that's normally because it's the grass over the septic tank!  Not a bad Sunday afternoon, curl up on the couch, have a few laughs kind of movie.  Grade:  C+

She said:  I'm usually not a big Adam Sandler fan, but this movie was pretty funny.  It's about a guy who fakes  being married to meet women.  Morally speaking, it stinks....but as mindless entertainment, it was funny.  The little girl actress was great, as was the cousin.  There were some funny moments and lines and I laughed pretty much the whole time.  Sometimes the people you watch a movie with influences you, and they laughed the whole time too.  Of course, they were teenagers and they usually like more inappropriate humor.

Captain America

He said:  Typical superhero movie. A good movie, not great.  I thought it could have been much better.  Overall not a bad way to spend 2 hours on a hot Saturday afternoon.  Grade:  C

She said:  Marvel has yet another super hero. Take a scrawny American young man, who wants more than anything to be a soldier, and use him in a science experiment and you get...Captain America!  I thought the movie was pretty good and the special effects were good.  Captain America has a heart for people, even when the people are ugly to him...and that's the kind of guy the scientist were looking for.  The ending left me a little sad...and of course, wait until the VERY end of the credits for a snipet of the next movie.

Jumping the Broom

He said:  This was a pretty good movie, not as funny as I thought it would be.  Always enjoy Mike Epps and he was hilarious.  The dialogue seemed forced to me and the acting was a little stale, but overall pretty good for a dollar movie.  Grade:  C+

She said:  This movie is about a black girl raised by a hoity toity family who falls in love with a black guy who was raised by his hard working/blue collar mom (who is/was taking anger management courses).  The movie was funny in some scenes and even had a few "Christian" moments in it.  Overall, it was kinda predictable but good.  Was good for a dollar movie outing.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 2

He said:  Bittersweet!  I loved this movie and think it was one of the better Harry Potter films, but sad to see the series end.  My kids have grown up with these movies, and they drug us into the wonder and amazement of these films.  Grade:  A-

She said:  Well, this is it...the last Harry Potter movie. My kids have grown up with Harry and his friends, I can't believe it is over.  I believe this was the best Harry Potter film yet.  The epic battle between Harry and Voldermort, between good and evil.  But, who will prevail? Great scenery, great story, and great ending!  I won't give away any of the details, but suffice it to say that some characters come and go, but a great story lives forever.  We love you Harry Potter!!

Conviction

He said:  Interesting movie.  It's a true story and that makes it intriguing to me.  It's about a wrongful conviction and an 18 year fight to clear an innocent mans name.  Pretty good movie for NetFlix.  Grade:  B-

She said:  This is a true story about a sister that goes to school to become a lawyer to defend her brother that is accused of murder.  I thought this movie was very good.  The acting was good and the story is amazing.  Hillary Swank gave a great performance as the sister who sacrifices her time/life for her brother.  I think it's a great movie for a quiet night at home.  Language is rough...it was set in Massachusetts, and if you've read our previous blogs, you'll see what Deano says about Massachusetts!!
And, I totally understand the sibling bond...I'm about to donate a kidney to my sister!

Fast Five

He said:  You've seen one, you've seen 'em all.  Ok for a dollar movie, or wait for Red Box. Grade:  C-

She said:  For some unknown reason, I like the Fast and Furious "saga".  Non stop action and some cool car stunts.  And, you have Vin Diesel fighting with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson!  I mean, really...who would win that one!! Language is rough, and of course there are skimpy dressed girls, but overall, this is a fun movie for a date.  And, we saw it at the dollar movie.

Monte Carlo

He said:  Didn't see this one, Pamo and Taylor went.

She said: Typical and predictable teenage movie, but it was pretty good.  It's about 3girls that go to Paris for a little trip and a case of mistaken identity breaks out.  Good movie to see with your teenage daughter...has cute guys in it :).  Would be better for a dollar movie or Red Box rental, but that's just me!

Larry Crowne

He said:  I wanted to see this movie, but to be honest, I was a little disappointed.  I like both Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks, but they didn't have any chemistry in this movie.  It was a little off beat and never seemed to me in tune.  My favorite character was Cedric the Entertainer as the yard saling neighbor.  As a romantic comedy this is an average movie.  I would wait for the dollar movie.  Grade:  C+

She said:  Larry Crowne has been fired from his job for lack of a college degree.  He goes back to college and meets his teacher.  This romantic comedy was just OK for me, I really didn't feel the chemistry between Tom and Julia's characters.  I found this movie a little slow.  There were some funny moments, but overall, I would recommend waiting until the dollar movie for this one.

Frozen

He said:  This movie wasn't what I expected.  I thought it was going to be a slasher movie with some crazy man killing teenagers, but I was pleasantly surprised.  It was graphic with compound fractures and wolves devouring people, but for a Netflix movie, it was pretty good.  The young actors, none of whom are famous, gave good performances.  Grade:  B-

She said:  Netflix rental.  I love scary movies and thrillers!  Deano thought it would be scary, but I knew better.  This movie is about 3 friends that convince a ski lift operator to let them go to the top of the mountain one last time before closing for a week.  They are forgotten about and are left up there.  The acting was kinda cheesy, but the story concept was pretty good.  There are some gory scenes (done again in a cheesy kind of way), but overall, I would say this is a pretty good rental for a boring day at home.

Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon

He said:  Retread, retread.  This movie was just ok.  Wait for the dollar movies or Redbox.  Grade:  C-

She said:  Action, action, and more action.  The Decepticons are back with avengence.  Typical transformer action film with lots of great visual effects and hot girls and cool cars.  And, who knew transformers could bleed?? Two and a half hours of non-stop action.....watch out though, little ones could get scared by the mean ole Decepticons!!

Something Borrowed

He said:  I didn't want to see this movie because I really don't like Kate Hudson.  However, this movie kind of surprised me.  It was really funny and entertaining.  It's a typical romantic comedy with several twists.  Good movie.  Grade:  B

She said:  I'm not a big Kate Hudson fan, but this movie cracked me up!  John Krasinski did an amazing job as the quick witted boy in the background kinda guy!  He is one of my favorite supportive actors!  This movie is about life long best friends who are opposite in personalities from each other.  The bubbly one, Darcy, is always stealing the spotlight in every situation while Rachel quietly lets her.  Rachel introduces Darcy to her "crush" Dex, and Darcy and Dex get engaged.  Dex finds out that Rachel is in love with him and the movie goes on from there.  Language is rough, 1 F-bomb, but overall a funny movie.  Great for a rainy day rental.

The Art of Getting By

He said:  I love these kinds of movies.  It's about young people struggling to find the meaning of their lives.  It stars Emma Roberts who is one of my favorite young actresses and whom I predict will have a long and successful career in movies.  Well written and excellent New York scenery.  The title is a metaphor for life.  Grade:  B+

She said:  At first, I had mixed feelings about this movie.  I expected it to be your average teenage movie.  But, I was pleasantly surprised.  I thought the acting was good and the story line was too.  The main character-boy-struggles with the meaning of life.  And, I think most of us do at some point.  It is a love story and a life story.  There was some bad language (1 F-bomb), but overall I thought this was a good movie.  Cute, charming, a little depressing, and refreshingly poignant when it comes to trying to figure out life.

Lincoln Lawyer

He said:  I'm usually not a Matthew McConaughey fan, but this was not a typical Matthew McConaughey movie.  This was a well written, smart, entertaining movie.  One of the better movies I have seen this year...especially since it only cost me $2.  Country star Trace Atkins has a small part which was pretty cool.  A definite must see for me.  Grade:  A-

She said:  I thought this movie was a little slow, but I ended up really liking it.  I like movies where the character is in a seemly impossible situation and seeing how it unfolds.  Matthew McConaughey is one of my favorite people (and no ladies, it's NOT because of his looks!), believe it or not, because of his voice!!  And, one of my favorite actors, William H. Macy, did a great job.  Overall, I thought the acting and the story were both good.  Good movie for thinkers...and it was at the dollar movie :)

Green Lantern

He said:  Good movie, not great.  Typical comic book movie.  I think girls will like it more than boys, just because of Ryan Reynolds.  Grade:  C

She said:  As most of you know, I'm not a huge comic book fan.  However, I liked this movie!  It had action and humor...2 things I like in a movie.  The language was a little rough, but I guess that's just par for the course.  A fun movie with the classic good vs evil theme, this one is a good one to watch!  FYI, smaller kids might get a little freaked out with the evil character...he's a little creepy :)

Jonah Hex

He said:  Dumb, Dumb, Dumb!  One of the worst movies I've ever seen! Grade: F

She said:  I wasn't a fan of this movie.  I'm not a big fan of westerns or Marvel characters, especially when you mix them.  Jonah has the power to bring corpses back to life to get info from them about the living.  The acting was mediocre and the movie was not worth seeing to  me.  Was glad it was a Netflix rental

Super 8

He said:  Good movie, not great.  Quite a bit of bad language.  I would not recommend this for small children.  I thought the young actors did a really good job.  In the end it's about friendships, first love, loss, and pain.  It also has the best train derailment scene I've ever seen.  Grade:  B

She said:  Kids cussing...really??  This would have been a pretty good movie, but I was turned off by all the language, especially from the kids.  Even had an F-bomb in it.  The idea was good...think Goonies investigate aliens.  I don't think this movie is appropriate for small children just because of the language.  Maybe that's just a sign that I'm getting old.  I just think it could have been a good family movie if they would have left that out.  However, I did like the end during the credits where they showed the finished product of what the kids had been working on during the movie.

The Company Men

He said:  I had never heard of this movie, but I really enjoyed it.  It's about large companies laying off thousands of workers and their struggles to survive.  The acting from Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, and Chris Cooper was really good.  The lesson learned is it's more important who you have than what you have.  Grade:  B+

She said:  Netfilx rental night.  I thought this movie was a little slow, but ok.  It was filmed in Boston, so you know the language was bad, and there was some skin/nudity.  I did think the characters had a good chemistry between them, and the acting was good.  Was ok as a rental.

X-Men-First Class

He said:  First just let me say I went to the midnight showing, and I think I was the oldest man in there!  I'm not a huge X-Men fan, but I thought this movie was very well done.  I enjoyed learning the history of how the X-Men all started. And, I now have another movie that I can be successful at 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon!  It also has one of my new favorite actresses...Jennifer Lawrence.  Grade:  B+

She said:  I didn't see this movie, but we have a Special Guest to give his review...our son, Evan.  He said we need a teenagers view sometime..so, here it goes:

Evan said:     I thought this movie was very good.  I like the way Marvel makes all their stories fit together.  The new characters and mutants brings a freshness to this series.  The actors were good, the action was good.  Overall a very good movie and I would recommend it to everyone.

Pirates of the Caribbean-On Stranger Tides

He said:  Retread.  For all of you from the Augusta, Georgia area...think Johnny's Recaps.  Wait for the dollar movie if you see this movie at all.  Grade:  C-

She said:  I think Jack Sparrow is probably the best movie character in a long time.  He is funny and quirky and just makes pirates fun.  I do think, however, that the Pirates movies have run their course.  I don't like beating a dead horse!  This movie was ok...and is about the whole crew trying to find the fountain of youth.  Of course, wait until the VERY end after all the credits have run....and you'll find the snipet for the 5th movie!!  I would wait until the dollar movie to see this one.

Sucker Punch

He said:  Very interesting movie.  Visually stunning....think Matrix meets Victoria Secret models.  All kidding aside, I really enjoyed this movie.  The story line and parallel worlds made the movie intriguing to me.  In the end it's about commitment and sacrifice.  Grade:  B+

She said:  OK..this is not my type of movie.  If you like movies that have a alternate reality within a reality within yet another reality...you will like this.  The only thing I liked about this movie was the soundtrack.  To me, it was a cute girl kicks butt movie.  I wouldn't recommend this movie, but that's just me.

Blue Valentine

He said:  I really wanted to see this movie because it had a lot of Oscar buzz around it during Oscar time.  I must say that the acting was really good.  But, this may be the most depressing movie I have seen in some time.  If you feel like being sad and bummed out, I would recommend this movie.  Otherwise, don't even think about it.  Grade:  Acting: A...Movie:  C-

She said: OMG...one of the saddest and most depressing movies I've seen in a long time.  The actors did an incredible job of making me believe them, but I swear after this movie I felt like I wanted to go lie in the middle of Bobby Jones expressway!!  I still am questioning what the real problem with the characters was, but I thought the movie was believable. I wouldn't recommend this one unless you just want to have a reason to be depressed!

Thor

He said:  I usually like super hero movies and this was no exception.  The plot was a little weak, but overall I really enjoyed the movie.  It was entertaining and you can escape for a couple of hours.  Grade:  B

She said:  I liked this movie, although I'm not normally into super heros.  It had humor and good special effects, and a hottie with a hammer!  And, I always love when they put a little snippet at the VERY end of the trailers of the upcoming movie.  A fun movie, I would recommend it...and the language wasn't horrible (a couple or "wordy dirds")

Country Strong

He said:  I didn't really like any part of this movie.  However, Gwenyth Paltrow is a pretty good singer.  None of the characters ever really felt connected to me.  Glad it was just a dollar Redbox!  Grade:  D

She said:  I really didn't want to see this movie, not sure why.  But, it was pretty good.  Gwyneth Paltrow can definetly sing.  The movie did have a good bit of rough language.  It wasn't one of my favorites but it was ok as a Redbox rental.  It was a pretty sad and depressing movie to me, maybe that's why it wasn't one of my favorites

Soul Surfer

He said:  This movie was about what I expected.  It was a feel good movie about a tragic event.  It's about a girl who got her arm bitten off by a shark while surfing.  The movie focuses on her determination to return to surfing, even with her disability.  With the support of her family and faith, she was able to return to competitive surfing.  The movie was pretty inspiring, I must say. Grade:  B+

She  said:  This was a good movie...inspiring I guess you could say.  Of course, it is about a true story of a surfer that was attacked by a shark and lost an arm.  The movie takes you through her struggles and how she works through them.  Even has a little spiritual approach, which is refreshing in a movie.  No bad language that I can remember.

African Cats

He said:  Typical Earth Day Disney nature film.  Visually very well done.  Love the scenery of the Masi Maura in Kenya.  Grade:B+

She said:  This is our yearly tradition of seeing the Earth Day movie.  This documentary follows a lions pride and some cheetahs.  About what you would expect from a documentary about animals.  Can see the same thing on Animal Planet.

Arthur

He said:  Not a fan of Russell Brand, or this movie.  Didn't like much about it at all.  Two positives were Helen Miren as Hobson and Arthur finally realizing he had a serious drinking problem and seeking help for it.  Don't waste your time, not even for $2.  Grade:  D-

She said:  First of all, let me say that I am not a big fan of Russell Brand.  I just don't think he is all that funny.  Of course, this is a remake of the original movie from the late 70's-early 80's.  The main character is an alcoholic billionaire that has never had to do anything for himself.  I thought the movie was a little cheesy and wasn't really impressed with it at all.  Not worth the money.

Hanna

He said:  Interesting movie, if you think a 12 yr old girl assassin is interesting.  This movie was just ok for me...it just seemed a little far fetched and forced at times.  Wait for the dollar movies. Grade:  C

She said:  This movie was ok..I had a hard time getting the story figured out.  Kind of skimped on some details.  Had the usual blood and guts....wouldn't recommend paying full price for this one.

He said:  Very interesting movie.  I really liked the premise of the movie, and even though I'm a border line genius (if you know me, you know what this means), it was a little confusing to me.  It was one of those movies that when you leave the theater, your not sure what just happened.  Which is good...and bad!  I enjoyed the characters and the story line.  Good overall movie.  Grade:  B+

She said:  This kind of movie drives me crazy...because it takes me days to think about it and figure it out!  It was a pretty fast paced movie and I was doing good figuring it out until the end!  If you like movies with time alteration stuff in it..you will probably like it.  One F bomb and a couple other cuss words and no nudity (imagine that!).

Nothing But The Truth

He said:  We watched this movie the other night because it was suggested by a friend.  About 10 minutes into the movie, I realized that we had seen it a while back, but thought...what the heck, let's watch it anyway.  I enjoyed the movie, it was smart and well written.  It shows the extraordinary lengths that some reporters have to go through to protect their sources.  Overall good movie for a Netflix rental.  Grade:  B-

She said:  I thought when I started watching this movie that I had seen it before.  That goes to show you how many movies we watch!!  I liked this movie.  It's about a reporter that goes to extreme lengths to protect her source.  The language was rough but the overall movie was good.  How far would you go to protect someone?  A surprise twist at the end!  Good for a rainy day rental.

HOP

He said:  Didn't see this movie, not my type.

She said:  I took my daughter and her friend to see this movie.  As you know, the movie trailers always make a movie seem funny.  And, that's what it did.  I would say this is a cute movie for kids...family friendly.  It just didn't do a whole lot for me.  There were some cute moments and I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had small kids who were enjoying it.  Not worth the full price, in my opinion.  It did have some good music in it though :)

Ondine

He said:  This movie was recommended by a friend.  It had a strong Irish dialect and some of the words were hard to understand.  The movie was interesting and I thought Collin Ferrell did a good job.  Good movie for a rainy Saturday afternoon.  Grade:  B

She said:  I like Irish movies.  And, I like Collin Ferrell (even though he is usually a bad boy).  I liked this movie although the accents were so thick that I couldn't always understand what they were saying.  And, the cuss words aren't so bad when they are in a thick accent ;).  Anyway, the movie was good...a little slow, but I thought it worked out in the end.  And, I like fairytales...or, is this one?
