The King's Speech

He said:  I wanted to see this movie because of all the Oscar buzz around it, and I really didn't know what to expect.  I'm not a big Collin Firth fan, but I thought he did a great job in this movie.  Geoffrey Rush was also outstanding as his speech therapist.  The heart of this movie was about the friendship between these 2 men, and the King overcoming his fear.  I would recommend this movie for people who enjoy good stories based on true events.  I will say, when we saw this movie, my wife and I were the youngest people in the theater.  I saw more silver hair in the theater than I did watching the silver back gorillas in "Gorilla's in the Midst".  Grade:  A-

She said:  I have heard so much buzz about this movie that it made me NOT want to see it!  But, I'm glad I did.  I thought it was really good, and I like Collin Firth.  It was moving, and even had some humor in it :)  I could actually feel the frustration that the King had.  I really enjoyed the relationship part of the movie between the king and his "doctor".  But, beware....although it's done in a humorous way, there are some F-bombs and quite a bit of cussing in a few scenes.  All around, a great movie.  I can see why it's nominated for so many Oscars...and, again, another true story...(seems like a lot of the movies we've seen lately are true stories!)
