Beastly

He said:  I went to see this movie because my daughter wanted to see it.  It was pretty much about a good looking, self centered, obnoxious, rich, high school kid who was turned into a beast by a witch at the school.  He had to get someone to love him for his curse to be broken.  The way in which he goes about trying to find love was not plausible at all.  And, people can't change themselves by just being around other good people.  This movie was probably entertaining to my daughter, and to most 13 yr olds, and I enjoyed going with my daughter and wife.  But, I did not enjoy this movie.  Grade: C-

She said:  A modern day "Beauty and the Beast", this movie parallels pretty closely to the original story.  It's about a high school guy that's obsessed with image and popularity.  Under a witch's spell, he is made horribly disfigured/marked/"ugly" and loses all hope.  He ends up being tutored by a blind guy (played brilliantly by Neil Patrick Harris).  He is intrigued by and falls for a girl that he briefly noticed during his cute days and has to win her love before the new spring starts to break the spell.  It's a typical teen movie, cheesy...but kinda cute.  It did have some bag language but overall, it was ok. Mediocre acting, except for Neil Patrick Harris.  I would rather have gotten this as a rental, then to pay full price.
